Pictures from "It's a Daughter's Tea" w fashions from Finedesigns!!

This is the zebra jacket Butterick. I added beads to the collar and belt. Look at the beautiful ice sculpture and the tea sandwiches. I was so excited!!
This skirt and top are from simplicity.

This is my own creation or TNT. I glued studs to the top part of the dress.

This is simplicity and I used one directional  fabric. I cut it wrong but could easily turn the panels of the skirt in the correct direction

The pants are simplicity and the top is burda.
The jacket is Vogue and the dress is simplicity.

This is Rosa wearing her own creation

The jacket is Vogue and I think the skirt is simplicity

Ashley!! Doesn't she look fantastic!
Rosa is wearing her own creation.

Photos of Versace Spring Collection

I love the colors!!!
I did have a fashion show on May 7, 2011 for the Daughter's Tea but the pictures did not come out well. I am trying to get the pictures that were taken by my pastor so I will upload those shortly.  In the meantime we can enjoy the wonderful styles and colors that Versace brings this spring!!! Also,Lace is suppose to be the new trend for the Spring, all different colors of lace.

Here is lace in two colors, but we know black and white lace are always popular. I think I need to make a lace dress for the summer!!!

Spring Panache 2011 was today!!! 4.16.11

The model wearing the houndstooth is Vogue 8465 viewb. I altered the collar so that it was not so asymetrical. The model wearing the zebra pattern is Butterick 4865, I love this pattern. Actually, they are both one of my favorites. And don't the models look lovely!!!!!
I added beads to the collar on the zebra print.
My outfit is Vogue 1195, just the top with the tie. I didn't have time to make the dress....I probably won't either now that the fashion show is over. I will be moving on to my next collection for fashion week in Pittsburgh which is in Sept 2011. I hand sewed the beads and sequins on the neckline of this top.
This dress is my Own creation. I draped it on the dressform and hand stitched the gathers and machine stitched the hem and the one armhole. I will probably try this again with different tucks to see what I can come up with. This was fun.!!
This me and Rosa. Rosa helped me so much during the preparation of the show. It was such a blessing to work with her. She and I will be planning a shopping trip to NY garment district real soon and you know aI can't wait!!!

Simplicity 2215 and my Inspirational Pic

It's all in how you put it together. I wish I could remember what designer did the dress on the second picture but nevertheless, the boots, the belt, and the tights give the outfit it's edge. I"ll be picking fabric real soon.

Vogue 8546-Finished

I apologize for the picture. Actually, none of my pictures seem to be the best my camera could take. I think I need to find out how to actually use my camera. Anyway, the belt is the first I have ever made and it is my own design. I think I need to look at some patterns to learn exactly what materials to use, but for my first belt I think it's ok. The fabric underneath the jacket is just wrapped around the dress form( I call her "Lilly").

Vogue 8546

I made this jacket last year in beige. But I realize now I would use a black one more often. The beige one I serged the seams but this one I am using a felled seam because the seams in the hood show on the outside. I think it will look alot better.

As you can see it's coming together. I put the bow on  there but my daughter advices no bow. I think I am coming to the age of dressing for me and not for others. So the bow will stay unless it just doesn't go with what I am wearing at the time.

Here it is: Lots of pictures of the what I have done and am doing now!!

My granddaughter was in a production called Black Nativity and I made this African styled outfit for her.

She said she was nervous, but I can't tell it by these pictures!!
This is Vogue 8685 view C, the back.
This is the front of Vogue 8685. I loved making this dress and will make it again with short sleeves for the summer.
The blouse is Butterick 5496 View C except I added elastic to the sleeves. Love this blouse it was fast to make which made it even nicer!! The skirt is Simplicity 2343 without the zipper trim on View D.
This blouse and top is the demo I made for Jo Ann fabrics, the top is Simplicity 2892 View D and the skirt is Simplicity 2286 View A. It was difficult to take pictures of the red, but I really like this outfit.
This is the Burda Vest I started last year!!! I finally finished it!! That really was a challenge for me, but I really like it on. One day I'll post a picture with me wearing it. The pants are a demo for a class I teach at Jo Ann fabric's Simplicity 3796 view B. The pants require a lot of top stitching, I like the look, it just takes a lot of time. They fit nice too!!
This is an old pattern I picked up at a local thrift shop for 50 cents. Simplicity 8741 View A. I added the belt and the jewelry on the ties. It looks gold on the top, but it is actually silvertone. There is a vest and skirt that goes with the blouse, but the vest is just cut out and the skirt needs to be hemmed and I forgot to take a picture of it..... Next time!!
I really like hammered jewelry of any kind.
This is another top I started last winter and never completed. It is finally done!! I added the ruffles to the sleeve to match a skirt I haven't even cut out yet!! The pattern is Butterick View D without the ruffles on the bottom of the blouse.
This is Butterick 4865, it's a fast and easy pattern . It requires no lining and I didn't add one. But I think the next time I make this I will add a lining. This particular fabric didn't require a lining. I still have to hem this jacket on the bottom and on the sleeves.
This is a really warm sweater jacket. I got this fabric from Fabric.com and was really surprised when it came in the mail at how thick it was, in spite of that it is really soft. The color is actually pink and grey. Of course it is not finished. I took my cue from Amanda's blog and added hem facing to all the seams. I figured that would help it stay better than trying to stitch the knit under. The pattern by the way is The Vogue Woman V8605. I will show more pics when it is complete.

This is Vogue 8465 with a style adjustment. The collar is more asymetrical on the pattern, but I simplified it. I can't wait until I finish this one, I love it already and it's not done yet!! Well, I hope you didn't get overwhelmed with all my pictures.  Grace and Peace to YOU!!!
